What is a dieta?

A dieta is a sacred pilgrimage, a rite of passage, and a deep journey of communion with a specific master plant spirit. When approached with respect, integrity, commitment, and devotion, it has the potential to catalyze profound transformation in your life.

This special time invites you to awaken greater levels of your light and power, while also tending to and healing inner wounds that are ready to return to wholeness.

A dieta is both an embodiment of your inner light and a time to intimately confront your deeper shadows.

White Rose

the diamond of refinement

When you gaze upon the outer petals of the White Rose, some are withered—softened by time, touched by the seasons that have passed. Yet each of these petals represents a sacred part of who you once were, an honored aspect of yourself that has completed its purpose and is ready to be lovingly shed so that you can ignite the capability to create the life you desire.

When you hold a White Rose up to the light, you often discover a golden glow hidden deep within its spiral. Every petal that falls away is a reflection of your own journey—revealing the beautiful gold, the true purity and essence of your soul to help you embody the purest aspects of who you truly are.

Like the rose herself, she honors every season—the budding, the blooming, the withering, and the rebirth. She reminds us that every cycle is sacred and every season serves the unfolding of our soul.

Before you reach the beauty of the bloom, you have to move through the intelligence of the thorns. The inner wounds, fears, habits and limiting beliefs within you that are keeping you from living a life of freedom, joy, and peace.

She restores your connection to your voice, helping you speak your truth from your heart, honoring your boundaries with clarity, self respect, conviction and grace. She teaches you discernment, where you are giving your energy away and not receiving in return, and where to best invest your energy, so you can come back into harmony with giving and receiving from a full cup.

She assists you in finding forgiveness within yourself — by going into the anger, the judgment, shame and guilt you may be carrying from past situations, holding a sacred space to express these emotions and free them from your body through the power of grace & compassion.

She works with your womb, brings healing to sexual traumas, removes blocks hindering your creativity and clears energy from previous partners, bringing nurturance and restoration to this portal of creation.

Rose also assists in clearing the ancestral karma we carry in our bodies - specifically through our mother line - freeing your body of ancestral trauma creating a new cycle for your lineage.

She reminds you of your sovereignty - the power to act from your own inner knowing & truth. Not what societal structure has taught you to be. Helping you embody your confidence, worthiness, and to lead your life trusting & embodying the voice of your intuition.

She awakens creativity, helping you embody your unique talents and natural gifts that are meant to be shared with the world & yourself.

She brings clarity to your path and illuminates the next steps towards bringing your projects, intentions, and creations to life..

She is the diamond, moving you through the flames of refinement.

She is loyal, honorable, and deeply devoted. Over time, she becomes a trusted companion—a guide, protector, teacher, and beloved friend.

Dieta Protocol

The dieta protocol is strict, and it is imperative that you follow it fully—before, during, and after your dieta. This discipline is both a sacrifice and a sacred contract with the plant. The deeper your devotion, the more the plant honors your commitment, offering blessings and transformative healing in your life. The purpose of this protocol is to ensure that your body becomes a clean vessel, prepared to merge with the intelligence and wisdom of the plant.

By following the dieta, you open the door to a lifelong allyship with the plant—a master spirit who will walk beside you, helping guide the path toward your prayers. Disrespecting this contract can create inner conflict with the plant and may hinder—or even reverse—the healing work that has unfolded.

Please note that every facilitator and shaman has their own contract with the plants. This protocol was created through my direct experience with Rose, in combination with the teachings I’ve received from my teachers and my own years of dieta practice.

What the Days Look Like

I will be available daily to support you. Most of your time will be spent in solitude—a sacred container to go within, build a relationship with Rose, and receive her teachings, healing, and guidance. You are welcome to spend time in your room or outdoors in the natural beauty surrounding you.

Your journey begins on day one with a limpia, an essential part of the dieta to cleanse and prepare your body to receive Rose.

Upon waking on an empty stomach, you will drink Piñón Blanco seeds, which deeply cleanse the body and energy field. This process is much smoother when the pre-dieta protocols have been followed. After drinking, you will rest in your room for a few hours, allowing the medicine to do its work.

Possible effects vary for each person and may include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, shaking, chills, temperature changes, or general discomfort.

These are all natural ways the medicine clears your physical and energetic body.

Activities During the Week

Throughout the dieta, I will offer additional practices & tools depending on the flow and what will best support your healing.

These may include:

Sound baths & light language healing

Plant baths

Meditations

Huachuma Ceremonies

During the 10 - 14 days, we will also sit in 3-4 Huachuma ceremonies to help deepen and advance the healing journey.

One in the beginning, middle and end.

The Hauchuma cactus comes directly from Chavin (known as birth place of Huachuma) and the medicine will be cooked with the roses, allowing the two plant spirits to come together as a team to help facilitate your healing. Working with Huachuma is an incredible way to deepen your experience.

The two plants unify the sacred heart within, balancing your masculine and feminine energies.

Each ceremony will be a bit different but will contain moments of prayer, solitude, one on one time, meditations, energy healing, and music if you'd like to bring instruments or just your voice!

My journey With Rose

My journey with Rose began after completing several master plant dietas. In my experience, the next plant often reveals itself when the previous one has completed its teachings—and this time, it was Rose who made it known that I was meant to sit with her next.

I could never have imagined that saying yes to that first White Rose dieta would introduce me to one of my greatest teachers, guides, and companions. Over the years, I have had the privilege of dieting White, Pink, Red, and Yellow Rose, and my relationship with her continues to deepen with every season of life.

In these dietas, she helped me heal deep layers of my inner child, sexual trauma, and the wounds surrounding my relationship with my mother. She revealed the places where I had abandoned myself—where I diminished my own voice, questioned my worth, and allowed the opinions of others to shape how I saw myself.

Through her teachings, I began learning what true self-respect feels like.

She taught me how to create and communicate healthy boundaries with love. She encouraged me to express my emotions instead of carrying them in silence. She gave me the courage to speak my truth, to take action toward the life I longed to live, and to honor myself in the ways I wished others would honor me.

One of Rose's greatest gifts has been guiding me through grief.

Grieving the old versions of myself operating from shame, self-judgement, not believing in myself or conforming to societal and family expectations of who I am supposed to be. She helpoed me greive the anger I carried from that along with the people I’ve had to let go of who couldn’t accept who I truly am, and the grief of my mothers continued journey with Alzheimers. Rose continues to hold me through these tender places with extraordinary compassion, teaching me that grief is often one of love's deepest expressions.

She showed me that love is an ever-unfolding teacher, if one love goes another takes its place.

She invited me to look honestly at where bitterness, anger, or blame had taken root, not with judgment, but with compassion & understanding. Again and again, she brought me back to my own heart, reminding me that healing begins the moment we choose to meet ourselves with love & kindness.

The beautiful thing about Rose is that her teachings never truly end.

She doesn't offer a single moment of transformation and then disappear. She continues walking beside you as life presents new invitations to embody what you have learned. Every experience becomes another opportunity to choose love over fear, truth over old patterns, and authenticity over self-abandonment. The wisdom that she gives me continues to evolve over time.

Layer by layer, she helps you bloom.

Sometimes I meet challenges and parts of myself that are uncomfortable but she continues to teach me how to meet them with courage and shed those old petals -parts of myself - with grace and welcome in the new aspects of myself to help move me closer toward my dreams.

Today, Rose continues to teach me greater self-confidence, self-worth, discernment, and devotion. She reminds me that becoming who we truly are is not a destination but a lifelong unfolding.

For me, Rose is far more than a plant.

She is a beloved teacher, a fierce protector, a compassionate guide, and one of my dearest lifelong friends.

She is the dieta that never stops giving.

After years of working with her by myself, learning how to properly hold a safe and loving space to receive the power of her healing & teachings she presented the invitation for me to step deeper into my gifts and create transformational spaces of healing to help others experience her magic.

Additional Facilitators:

Sydney Foltz

About five years ago, I reached a breaking point—burnt out from the relentless hustle of being an actress and comedian in Chicago. Juggling multiple jobs, endless auditions, and big projects, I found myself thinking, There has to be more than this. That realization led me to the Amazon of Peru, where I sat in dieta with Shipibo maestros, working with Ayahuasca. Little did I know, this experience would become the catalyst for the most expansive and liberating era of my life.

I returned from the jungle transformed, with an undeniable knowing that my true purpose was to live, grow, and heal in deep connection with Mother Earth. So, I took the greatest leap of my life—I quit my jobs, left my agency and podcast, sold all my belongings, ended my relationship, and moved to a new country with no plan, only trust.

Now, I reside in the Sacred Valley of Peru where I have undergone my own deep rebirth. Since taking this leap, my path has been one of devotion—learning, training, and immersing in the sacred medicines of the Earth, specifically with Rose and Huachuma. Serving as a bridge to hold a safe space for people to heal & grow with the plants.

I have received extensive training in Shamanic Reiki, Sacred Feminine Alchemy within the lineage of the Rose, Trauma-Informed Breathwork facilitation, Akashic Records, and Plant Medicine Integration. I am currently apprenticing with a native shaman in the Amazon with whom I facilitate dietas with. I am deepening my studies in shamanism & curandera work while learning how to serve the medicine of Huachuma and Ayahuasca through his Incan and Shipibo lineage. I also carry trauma-informed medicine integration training from Aya Healing Retreats. Alongside my own experience with sitting dietas the past 7 years, my blend of western education in plant medicine space with the traditional studies I’m learning from the native elders in Peru allows me to curate and hold a safe space for you to have a profound and clean healing journey with the plants.

My initiation with the spirit of Rose deepened through a powerful dieta, a time full of solitude, fasting, and communion with her essence. This journey awakened my inner queen, helping me step into greater leadership for my life, my projects and my service. Through her support I was able to heal my wounds of unworthiness, strengthen my boundaries, deepen my connection with goddesses like Quan Yin & Mary Magdalene, and heal deep ancestral wounds and childhood traumas. It allowed me to step into my power in a way I could have never imagined.

In the end, Rose extended an invitation—to devote my path to her teachings and guide women in awakening through her essence. I humbly accepted, and since then, my work has been devoted to being in service to her wisdom.

My priority is to hold a safe space where all aspects of your feminine are welcome. I invite you to take off your masks, drop the armor, and surrender to the magic that already lives within you. I vow with all that I am that you will be divinely held and cared for as you awaken to the remembrance of who you truly are.
